Can you summarize your presentation on one sign?

It is often difficult to sum a long presentation into one statement. But if you can't, then you didn't start out with the end in mind, and your presentation is in danger of being cluttered, unclear, and uninspiring.

Consider the exercise below in helping you develop your single message for any presentation. It is through limitations and constraints that we often innovate.

Are you ready to get messy?

How do you come up with those brilliant ideas? Do you have a step by step process? Or are you open to the spontaneous creative approach?

Everyone has a different approach and finding what works for you may seem like you've hit the jackpot - until it stops working.

That's when you have to be open to other ways. Think differently about creativity.

I have a process that I know I follow, but how I implement the different steps in the creative process changes depending upon the situation, my mood, and the topic. In a way I don't necessarily follow a process I created, I have written down a few thoughts about what I have observed as I create.

By sharing the following, I'm hoping that 1) you'll find a bit of inspiration and ideas to use in your creative process and 2) that you'll share some of the things that work for you - we learn from each other!

********Creativity is Messy is a post from: presentationYOU - learn to present with impact

Caution: Not all delivery methods are the same! In your life of business you are presenting both in person and virtually. Please do not expect to use the same approach and material for both! DON'T PANIC: You do not have to recreate an entirely different presentation, however you will need to modify your in-person to use virtually and visa-versa. The PresentationYOU process will help you to determine what needs to be different in your virtual presentation versus your in person event. Here are a few things to consider:

********Presentation Lesson: Virtual Versus In-Person is a post from: presentationYOU - learn to present with impact
